Amusement Park Rides

Plan Tech manufacturers a wide variety of parts and products used by amusement parks across the country and around the world. These parts include wheels, guide rollers, rub strips and bumpers. Many of these parts have custom texturing or decorative designs molded in.

Bottling

Plan Tech manufactures polyurethane star wheels and capper rings for the bottling industry. Our machine shop and waterjet cutting capability also fabricates parts from other materials for the industry. In some cases, the best parts are those that have the one material property in one location and another material in another location. Concrete/Aggregate

Plan Tech, Inc. provides a variety of parts for the concrete and aggregate industries, including hole formers, liner sheets, molds and forms, rollers, funnels, and classifier shoes.

Plan Tech Armorglide™ liner sheets help cement processors experiencing difficulty cleaning mixers, by helping to prevent the cement from bonding to the interior walls of the mixer. The cement no longer needs to be mechanically chipped off the walls as it flakes easily off the liner thus reducing the time required and the need for power tools. Armorglide™ liner sheets are available in a wide range of sizes and colors and can be custom manufactured to your specific application.

Plan Tech hole formers stand up to the harsh conditions in the casting and breakout phases of production. Hole formers are available in a variety of sizes and configurations as well as in custom sizes.

Cast polyurethane is an ideal material for making custom molds for pouring concrete shapes. Its ability to withstand abrasion and its ease of moldability allow concrete molds to be manufactured for relatively low cost while at the same time providing a long lasting mold. Because polyurethane is a cast material, it can be cast to form molds that allow concrete to be poured into shapes that mimic natural stone for walls or walkways.

Construction

Our urethanes are found in a variety of slip on tires for construction equipment as well as specialty products such as electrical isolating units for equipment at risk for contacting electrical lines. Product design and material selection enables extremely high loads to be handled safely without conducting electrical current.

Additionally, we provide urethane components for heavy equipment applications such as hose guards and seal rings designed to withstand the harsh environments of construction and mining.

Elevator/Escalator

Plan Tech manufacturers a number of different wheels for the elevator/escalator/moving walkway industries. These products require metal stampings or castings, metal preparation, high speed trimming and bearing staking. We make these products dependably and in large quantities.

Food Processing

Here at Plan Tech we process both wet and dry food contact approved polyurethanes for use in the food industry. Our products can be found in the manufacture of corn chips, the processing of sugar beets and the harvesting of corn. Non-food contact applications are also common in the industry and these rely on polyurethane's resistance to environmental conditions and degradation.

Glass

The glass industry uses cast urethane parts in a number of applications on the cold side of the process. Cullet glass is handled by urethane buckets and liners. Finished product is handled with urethane fixtures that accurately locate the product and stand up to the abrasive nature of glass.

Lawn and Garden

Lawn and garden equipment manufacturers turn to cast urethane for long running and dependable components. Plan Tech manufactures rollers, chute liners, impellers, plow blade edges and salt spreaders for lawn and garden manufacturers.

Marine

Polyurethane products have great water stability and limited moisture absorption. Polyurethanes also limit fouling by marine growth and have been successfully used in trash grates for marine intakes at power plants. By limiting marine growth the products reduce maintenance and also reduce the number and amount of species that could be taken up during intake. Packings and seals are common in the industry.

Medical/Dental

Medical and dental equipment makes use of cast urethane rollers and wheels as well as other molded components. Fixturing and locating products take advantage of the durability of the materials as well as their relative ease for molding and shaping.

Packaging/Palletizing

Polyurethane capper rings, fixtures, glue rollers and fixturing can all be found in the industry. Plan Tech also makes use of a proprietary process for the adhesion of urethane to UHMW enabling us to competitively manufacture diverter shoes for the packaging and material handling industry. Modified urethanes, with a higher coefficient of friction also make good grippers for pick and place applications.

Power Transmission

Plan Tech manufactures a wide variety of gears and sprockets used in power transmission. Polyurethane offers long life and great wear characteristics as well as other specialty formulations to reduce or arrest static electricity. Idle and drive rollers are common in the industry. Plan Tech offers the manufacture of new metal cores as well as the repair of damaged or worn product.

Printing

Paper path rollers cast and ground to a precision finish dominate the industry in terms of wear and function. With our machine shop capabilities we can provide you with product complete with metal and urethane. Glue rollers and transfer rollers from urethane are also common.

Sporting Goods

Plan Tech has manufactured a variety of sporting goods ranging from horseshoes incorporating metal and fabric, to shoes that enable you to walk on mud due to urethane hinge flaps. Ball pitching machines also make use of a low impact urethane core and soft urethane cover. These pitching machine wheels are non-marking and serve to reduce shock load in the machines. Stone and Quarry

Plan Tech provides waterjet cutting, sheave liners and wear sheets to the stone and quarry trades.

Transportation/Trucking

Polyurethanes are commonly found in cars and trucks. The abrasion resistance, load bearing capability, and chemical, ozone and UV resistance all combine to make polyurethane a material of choice for transportation. Plan Tech actively seeks parts and products that fall into Tier II and Tier III supplier status. Trucking parts that we make are fifth wheel hitchplates, liners, shock mounts and bushings.

Wastewater

Wastewater plants offer a wide variety of opportunities for urethane products. Plan Tech manufactures a number of different wear shoes, including carry, return and grit bucket.
